Armed officers were called to Cliftonville today (April 30).
Kent Police received a report of a ‘man acting suspiciously’ in Norfolk Road this afternoon. Armed police responded and an imitation firearm was recovered. One man has been detained.
A Kent Police spokesman said: “Kent Police attended a premises in Norfolk Road, Margate, on the afternoon of Sunday 30 April after receiving a report that a man was seen acting suspiciously.
“Armed officers were in attendance and to ensure public safety some local road closures were enforced.
“One man has been detained in connection with the incident and an imitation firearm has been recovered.”
Officers remain at the scene conducting enquires.
